Executive Director at the State Innovation Exchange
Before becoming executive director of the State Innovation Exchange, Nick Rathod's experience ranged from positions in the White House to the Mayors Against Illegal Guns campaign. A civil rights attorney, Rathod's work has largely involved liaising between state, local, territorial, tribal, and international governments.
In the White House, Rathod served as the deputy director for Intergovernmental Affairs. Rathod also has worked as an advisor to former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer and Senior Manager of State and Regional Affairs for the Center for American Progress. In addition, Rathod worked on language access and financial empowerment issues with immigrant communities in Washington, D.C. He also served in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau as its Assistant Director for Intergovernmental and International Affairs.
Rathod received his B.A. in political science from Nebraska Wesleyan University and his law degree from the American University’s Washington College of Law.
